Couldn't resist painting this little Great Tit Chickadee, found in England. I loved the coloration and the background upon which the bird is set. I will admit that painting this little bird in a small format was a challenge, but I tried to capture all the important details. It took a bit of looking to find the particular species, and saw that it is mainly in England.
Victoria (Vikki) Bouffard has been working as an artist for most of her life. In childhood, drawing was a favorite pastime. She began painting as a young mother, first working in oils. She studied watercolor for five years and later acrylics and colored pencil. Most recently she has been working in pastel, along with watercolor which remains her most prominent medium. She captures a “moment” in her paintings and loves the beauty of flowers, the serenity of landscapes, brooks and ocean. Work in still life is an exciting opportunity for Vikki to play with light, shadows, and the nuances of color on objects.
